Compton, Joan Marie (Sisterman, Wagner) Born April 7, 1932 in Windom, MN. Died January 23, 2010 in Bloomington, MN. Preceded in death by her husband Hugh (Skip) Compton, whose boundless love sustained her through a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Survived by her 8 sons, Christopher (Debra) Wagner, William (Paula) Wagner, Daniel (Rose) Wagner, John Wagner, Tom (Carla) Wagner, Joseph (Colleen) Wagner, David (Christa) Wagner and James (Tara) Wagner. Also survived by her brother, the Very Rev. William (Carol) Sisterman (Ret.), sister Patricia (Ed) Kelley, sister-in-law Muriel Sisterman; 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews and friends. Joan grew up in St. Paul, briefly answering a vocational calling with the Benedictine Sisters and later studying and working in medicine. But her true gift and vocation was as a loving mother of many sons, to whom she dedicated her life. Joan received care for many years by a loving staff of health care workers at the Minnesota Masonic Home, to whom her family is forever grateful.
